About UsPastThe Pixiebob has been a TICA registered championship breed since May 1, 1998. The quest for championship status required several years of showing in TICA's New Breed/Color (NBC) class prior to 1998.The hard earned goal of Championship status for the Pixiebob was realized at the Annual in Pamona, CA in August of 1997. At this meeting, the TICA Board of Directors voted to grant the Pixiebob championship status, based on the breed section's fulfillment of the necessary requirements. Starting in May, 1998, the Pixiebob as a category II breed, was proud to join the show ring alongside the other TICA recognized championship breeds. Since the Pixiebob began showing in the Championship class, many have earned titles, wonderful tributes to the tractability and great temperament of this breed. PresentAs the breed section grows and develops we strive for greater consistency and awareness both for the pubic and ourselves as breeders. We are working toward solutions to the challenge we face being moved to Category 1, a decision that was made by TICA officials in 2005. This decision was not put before the breed section for a vote and has impacted our ability to show the lineage of 02's and 03's that were actively producing show winners prior to the category change. The proposal we submitted to allow complete grandfather clause for these lines was voted "no action" at the 2008 Annual meeting in August. The committee and breeders are committed to working together to insure that our breed continues to thrive by being in the most accurate and appropriate Breed Category within the TICA structure and organization.
